A light trek

For a change, we decided to walk down to the fields.
we took the path used by the villagers, unlike them we had no bundles of wood or fodder to carry.
the path was steep but was quite well maintained, better than the roads in our metros.
the sounds of our footsteps were in harmony with the rustling of leaves and the cool breeze which was omniscient.
for a change we didn't have to pretend that we were enjoying something; we actually were totally in awe of the settings. clearly , there was more to the scenery than what met the eye. the brown earth and the green hedges made for an aesthetically exquisite combination.
the sweat which trickled down our forehead cleansed the impure and unclean residues of the fast city life.
many villagers passed us by. we expected many a curious stare to greet us. interestingly we were the ones who couldn't resist the temptation to stare at the villagers who were quite comfortable with our presence.
when we did reach the fields, half the scenery had made a home in our hearts. the remaining half made it's way into our hearts when we started on the path which would take us to the motorable road where we had parked our locomotives.
when we glanced down upon the fields after completing the ascent there was nothing down there which seemed alien or unfamiliar.
