private synagogue

the air felt a little cold
the sun couldn't warm it.
they came out of their homes
into the temple they
all at once.
i stayed back couldn't stand the crowd.
i wanted a private god,a private prayer
a private blessing right there,
in a private synagogue
in my private space,
with privacy everywhere.
i shed a private tear,
meant for a private heart,
i smiled a private smile
i laughed a private laugh.
and i prayed for some privacy
in my private synagogue.
